Lilly Flakova is a photographerand visual storyteller drawn tohonest moments, beautiful lightand the people who make everycelebration meaningful.
I don't believe the best photographs are always the most perfectly posed. The moments that stay with us are often the ones that happen between the planned ones — a laugh, a glance, a hand held a little tighter.
I started photographing weddings almost by accident, for a friend who couldn't afford anyone else. Ten years and a lot of long days later, I still work the same way: quietly, close to the people, and always chasing the light rather than the schedule.
Most of my year is weddings and celebrations, with newborn sessions and brand work in between. I'm based in Leeds, and about a third of my work happens somewhere else entirely — which is still my favourite part of the job.
